Payvment: A Social Media E-commerce Storefront for Facebook

Payvment.comPeople are selling all kinds of things nowadays online.  From services to tangible goods, they are offering their “stuff” online.  Many people (400 million and counting) are actively using Facebook.  It is only wise that businesses and entrepreneurs have flocked to Facebook to build fan pages as a way to interact with their current and potential clients.

Everybody wants fans but those who are in business want to make money.  To my knowledge, there wasn’t a way to get people to purchase your products directly from your Facebook page without having the fan click an outside link.  Now, with Payvment, you can have a “Shop Now” tab that will take you to a “storefront” located right next to your wall, info, etc. tabs.

It’s very simple to sign up.  All you need is an email address as well as a Paypal account.  I can’t say I’m an expert with Payvment yet but as far as I know it is completely free.  They don’t take a percentage of your sales.  There isn’t a charge to use their services.  Just sign up and install the app on your Facebook fan page.

There are some pro’s and con’s about Payvment that I noticed right off the bat.  Some of the pro’s include: being able to have a store on your Facebook fan page, ability to offer a discount to your fans once they click the “like” button, and the payment process is directly linked to your Paypal account.  Some of the con’s include not being able to control your inventory individually (your only option is to give an overall amount of your inventory) and only one picture is able to be uploaded of your product (if you know HTML then you can add more into your page).

It does still appear that Payvment is in beta mode but they are very active and helpful.  If you are a business and are looking to possibly convert some fans into buyers then I recommend giving this app a try.  Below is a video as to how to install the app quickly and easily:
