We are now in the eight month of the year already!  WOWZERS!  I decided that it would be fun to do a little project/experiment on Craigslist over the next month in the bartering section.  Over the last couple of weeks, I have been reading all the cool, random, and unnecessary things that people want to trade.  There have even been two stories about people who have used the Craigslist barter section to trade up for wonderful things like a paper clip for a house or a cell phone for a Porsche.

I’m not looking for a house or even a car.  I am just interested in the entertaining part and the end result.  So, what is it that I am going to start with?  I am going to start with a simple free DVD rental coupon from Red Box.  

I will update the blog regularly in the random section as to what has been offered for each item I trade for and what I end up trading each item for.  As for now the experiment is meant to last a month.  I can’t wait to see what I end up with if anything at all.  I hope those who do follow along enjoy the crazy little monthly journey.

Update (8/2): I am now also trading a Swatch watch on the bartering section on Craiglist. Here is an image of the watch:
